At West Virginia State University, 4-H strives to offer free opportunities to the youth artists and scientists, advocates, and entrepreneurs in our communities. Helping them find their spark is our passion.
That means:
· 11,000 youth served in three years with a staff of 7
· More than 200 School Gardens Created
· 50 rockets launched
· Thousands of coprolite (fossilized dinosaur feces) dissected
· Hundreds of students mentored
We've made this possible almost exclusively through grants. With grants, we can purchase coding kits and rockets, hire buses and send our agents for training but we cannot provide a paid-for, hot lunch at a day camp.
Donations and corporate sponsorships can fill in the gaps, providing t-shirts and refillable water bottles, breakfast and snacks, or s’mores made on a campfire. These things lead to youth that are safe and fed when school is out and their parents are at work; to learning about the wide world and the open possibilities of making their place in it; to relationships with adults that will support them throughout their life; and to people – like you – who build better communities.
Be part of a century of creating opportunity and helping talent thrive by giving to 4-H today.
