On August 25, 2021, West Virginia State University embarked upon a transformative renovation project that includes installation of artificial turf, stadium lights, and new bleachers to accommodate future football contests, women’s soccer matches, and community events.
A $150,000 gift from the Kanawha County Commission kicked off the funding for the lights and bleachers.
The Bernard H. and Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation has provided a $250,000 matching gift challenge.
Successfully meeting the challenge will enable the WVSU Foundation to fully fund the lights and bleachers…completing Phase 1 of the project.
Your gift will help provide funding to meet the matching gift challenge and complete the funding for this exciting project.
Gifts made at the $1,000 level or more by December 31, 2022, will be recognized on a plaque prominently displayed at the Dickerson Stadium entrance.
