Men’s Basketball 2022

West Virginia State University Men’s Basketball now has two consecutive winning seasons under its belt after a seven-year drought and is currently working on its third straight. The Yellow Jackets made their first-ever appearance in the MEC Tournament semifinals at the end of the 2019-20 season. WVSU was invited to the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-Off this season and played on national television in the inaugural edition of the tournament. West Virginia State also upset nationally-ranked No. 11 Embry-Riddle, 87-69, at the Hoops in Hawaii Holiday Classic in late December.
Ten men’s basketball players earned a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall.
The funds raised through the WVSU Athletics Week of Giving will support:
- Gear
- Travel
- Book scholarships
