West Virginia State University Softball advanced to the finals of the MEC Tournament in 2021 after claiming its second-straight MEC South Division title. The Yellow Jackets won their first MEC Championship in 2018 and advanced to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 2 Tournament. In 2019, they finished runners-up to West Chester in the Atlantic Regionals. Over the previous three full season, WVSU softball is 99-52 (.656 winning percentage) overall and 66-29 (.695 winning percentage) against MEC opponents.
The team posted a 3.6 cumulative GPA in the fall with 96 percent of its student-athletes achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher.
